Philadelphia Resident Dies In Crash On Atlantic City Expressway (Photos) A 36-year-old Philadelphia resident died in a crash on the Atlantic City Expressway Tuesday, May 23, authorities said. A vehicle heading west on the highway ran off the road, struck several trees, and overturned around 3 p.m. near milepost 33.3 in Winslow Township, New Jersey State Police Trooper Charles Marchan said. A passenger in the vehicle, Percell Gray, died, while the driver suffered serious injuries, Marchan said. Winslow Township firefighters posted photos of the scene to Facebook. Philadelphia Man, 29, Killed In Atlantic City Expressway Crash A 29-year-old Philadelphia man was killed in a crash on the Atlantic City Expressway on Saturday, March 11, authorities said. Scott Vilayseng was heading west when his Mercedes Benz veered off the road, went down an embankment and struck a fence and tree, then overturned — ejecting him around 8:50 a.m. in Hamilton Township, New Jersey State Police Trooper Charles Marchan said. Vilayseng was pronounced dead at the scene and the crash remains under investigation.

Philadelphia Woman Sentenced On Gun Charge In South Jersey A 29-year-old woman from Philadelphia was sentenced to three years in New Jersey State Prison for unlawful possession of a handgun, authorities said. Desira Covington will be eligible for parole after one year of the prison sentence, according to the Atlantic County Prosecutor's Office. Covington’s request for a lesser sentence was denied by the sentencing judge. Covington was arrested on July 5, 2022, after a traffic stop on the Atlantic City Expressway.
