Alligator Escaped Into PA Creek During Flash Floods, Owner Says An alligator recovered from a creek in Exeter Township has been returned to its owner, who says the reptile escaped during the flash floods last month.  The Animal Rescue League of Berks County was called to Antietam Creek on Wednesday, Aug. 1 after landscaping staff discovered the gator, the organization told Daily Voice.  "We took possession of the animal intending to transfer it to The Venom Institute, a partner rescue that specializes in reptiles," said José Joel Delgado-Rivera, a Berks ARL spokesman.  But while the alligator was being examined by Venom Institute staff, her owner show…

The 3-foot gator was spotted crossing New England Road in West Mifflin, local police said on Facebook Tuesday. "Didn’t respond to any of the names we called it, and we weren’t able to check for a chip," police joked. "Seriously though, if you see this wandering around, please call the police."
