Troopers from the Pennsylvania State Police Stroudsburg responded to a 911 call from a female who was crying, with a man yelling in the background At approximately 10:18 p.m., on Monday night, March 17, Pennsylvania State Police said in a release. During the call, multiple gunshots were heard, prompting an immediate police response to the residence at 1118 Heritage Blvd., in Hamilton Township.

Arriving officers discovered 35-year-old Cheryl Okie with apparent gunshot wounds. She was pronounced dead at the scene. Her husband, 36-year-old Robert Okie, was also found with an apparent gunshot wound and was transported to a nearby hospital, where he was later pronounced dead, the county coroner tells Daily Voice.

Authorities believe the incident is isolated, though the manner and cause of death remain pending autopsy results. The Troop N Major Case Team is handling the investigation, working alongside the Monroe County District Attorney’s Office.

Cheryl Okie was known as the owner of The Wild Iris, a flower shop in Clinton, NJ.

Stephanie Tutty has launched a GoFundMe campaign for Cheryl's three children.

"Her unexpected passing has left a deep void in our hearts, but the greatest loss is felt by her three children," Tutty said. "We are so thankful they are safe but they are now left to navigate life without their mother. As a mother, she was everything to them...loving, fun, and always ready with a creative project. Her absence is going to leave an unimaginable pain that no one should have to endure."

As of press time, more than $6,000 had been raised.

Plants + Coffee, an Easton coffee shop, said Cheryl was a "phenomenal mother" and "what all women should aspire to be."

Cheryl's final post on Facebook reads: "I didn't claim 2025 was my year for a reason and it's still shit."
