Woman Trying To Help Injured Deer Struck By Car, Airlifted To Hospital In NJ: Police A 24-year-old woman was flown to a New Jersey hospital after she was hit by a car while trying to help an injured deer, authorities said. Mount Olive police officers responded to Route 206 and Patricia Drive on Tuesday, Sept. 15, where the woman was lying in the roadway after she was struck by a white Mazda while attempting to aid the injured animal, police said. The Lake Hopatcong woman was airlifted to a hospital, while the 29-year-old Mazda driver, a Flanders woman, remained on the scene and was not injured, police said. The crash remains under investigation, police said.
