A 22-year-old man from West Chester was arrested after striking an officer twice, authorities said. On Aug. 25, 2024, at about 2 a.m., West Chester Borough Police responded to the 100 block of West Gay Street, West Chester Borough, for a disturbance. A Philadelphia park ranger managed to capture a suspect shortly after being attacked with scissors, authorities said. Arrested was 34-year-old Thomas Riceman from Philadelphia. Riceman was charged with attempted murder, aggravated assault, ethnic intimidation, terroristic threats and other charges, according to Philadelphia police. On Sunday, Sept. 1, at approximately 4:20 p.m., officers from the 9th District responded to a radio call reporting an assault on a park ranger at 1800 Walnut Street. A man was found with drugs following a hit-and-run crash into a horse-and-buggy on Tuesday, Aug. 13, Pennsylvania State Police announced on Aug. 21. A woman was slashed across her face on Wednesday night, Aug. 7, Lancaster City police announced the following day. Victor Manuel Sanchez, 62, of Lancaster, appeared to be attempting to stab the woman "possibly beat a female with a knife in the 100 block of N.
