Two Bronx men are accused of using stolen identities to open fraudulent Nordstrom credit accounts and carry out a multistate retail fraud scheme before they were arrested at Westfield Garden State Plaza in Paramus, police said.
Erik A. Lake, 30, and David M. Suliz, 29, were arrested Wednesday, Aug. 5, after Paramus police investigated a suspected fraudulent merchandise return at the Nordstrom store, Paramus Police Chief Robert Guidetti said.

A second suspect accused of abducting a man at gunpoint, stealing thousands of dollars, and sparking a public manhunt is now in custody, Pennsylvania State Police announced.
Jayson Garcia, 42, was arrested Wednesday, Aug. 5, by the Pennsylvania State Police Fugitive Task Force in Schuylkill County, ending the search that began after the July 31 armed robbery and kidnapping.
His alleged accomplice, Paul Gregory Laurusevage, 40, was taken into custody Tuesday and remains held at Schuylkill County Prison.

A Johnstown native has died more than a week after a motorcycle crash in Pennsylvania, authorities announced on Thursday, Aug. 6.
Shane M. Hoffman, 25, was pronounced dead at 5:28 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 5, at St. Luke's University Hospital in Bethlehem, according to Lehigh County Coroner Daniel A. Buglio.
Hoffman suffered blunt force trauma to the head, and his death was ruled an accident, the coroner said.

Sydney Towle, a New England-born TikToker who has been documenting her battle with a rare cancer for three years, has died. She was 26 years old.
