400+ REI Employees Laid Off, Outdoor Retailer Ends Adventure Travel Program More than 400 employees will lose their jobs as REI closes its Experiences program, ending the adventure travel and outdoor education programs that have been part of the retailer’s identity for 40 years. Norristown Police Chief Resigns Effective Immediately Jacqueline Bailey-Davis has resigned as the Municipality of Norristown Chief of Police, effective immediately, officials announced Tuesday, Dec. 17. Bailey-Davis, who took office on Jan. 2, 2024, had been placed on administrative leave on Nov. 25. Municipal Administrator Leonard Lightner previously stated that the decision to place her on leave was made “after careful consideration” and emphasized the confidentiality of personnel matters. “The council and municipal leadership are focused on maintaining stability within the police department,” Lightner said in the earlier announcement. …

Police Seek ID Of Gunman In Terrifying Late-Summer Dauphin County Incident Police in Dauphin County are seeking the public's help in identifying the individual wanted in connection with an August assault. The man pictured above was in a group of three people who approached the victim sitting in their car on the 200 block of Liz Lane in Swatara around 9:20 p.m. on Aug. 28, police said.  The man above pulled out a handgun and began yelling and threatening the victims. A responding officer saw the individuals running behind the 300 block of Kristy Lane but was not able to detain them or see where they went. Anyone who recognizes the man is urged to call Swatara…
