A 16-month-old Amish girl was killed in a tragic farming accident on her family's property in Upper Leacock Township, the Lancaster County Coroner’s Office announced. Martha G. King was struck by a forklift on the grounds of her home on the 100 block of Horseshoe Road in Leola at around 4:30 p.m. on Saturday, March 15, investigators said in a press release. A train collided with a mobile home being hauled by a truck in Lancaster County, shutting down a crossing on Wednesday, Feb. 19, according to Lancaster County Wide Communication. The crash happened at the railroad tracks at South Groffdale Road in Upper Leacock Township at 12:10 p.m., emergency dispatch reported. An Upper Leacock Township man has been sentenced to five to 10 years in state prison after pleading guilty to indecently assaulting a 13-year-old girl, Lancaster County prosecutors announced. A car crash inside a covered bridge in Lancaster County late Friday night, Nov. 8, officials announced the following day. Upper Leacock Fire Company reported that the crash happened shortly after 11 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 9. Dump Truck Crashes Into Amish Family's Bird-In-Hand Home
An Amish family's home was struck by a dump truck on Thursday morning, according to Lancaster County Wide Communications. The truck's cab's front right tire appears to have blown out based on photos shared by Daniel Stoltzfus who also witnessed the crash.
