A woman was fatally struck by a falling tree while walking on the Saucon Rail Trail in Lower Saucon Township, authorities announced on Thursday, March 6.
Police were called to the trail between Old Mill Road and Meadows Road around 12:17 p.m. on Wednesday, March 5, for reports of a tree falling onto a pedestrian, the Lower Saucon Township Police Department said in a release.

A Harrisburg woman who helped cover up the brutal murder and dismemberment of her boyfriend has been sentenced to prison, authorities announced.
Summer Lynn Heil, 37, was sentenced to 9 months to 3 years in a State Correctional Institution for Hindering Apprehension or Prosecution, a felony, District Attorney Richard Wilson revealed.
