PA School Bus Driver, Ex-Elementary School Worker Charged In Child Endangerment Incident
A former elementary school employee and current school bus driver was charged in connection with an "endangering the welfare of a child" incident, according to release by Pennsylvania state police. Pennsylvania state police in Lebanon charged the school bus driver on Monday for leaving a child unattended on a school bus on Oct. 19 around 3:30 p.m., as stated in the release by state police and according court documents. A Pennsylvania man attempted to escape during an appearance before a judge, according to police. Palmyra Police arrested Rico Dewayne Hicks, 37, of Lebanon, who attempted to escape and flee from police while at the office of Magisterial District Judge Carl Garver located at 325 South Railroad Street in Palmyra on Wednesday, according to a statement released by Palmyra Borough police. Adoptive parents of five children have both entered their pleas for abusing their children as of Wednesday afternoon. Robert John Duncan, 44, and Stephanie Angelette Duncan, 43, of Lebanon, were apprehended in Feb. 2021 for “years of abuse in their home” located on the 2700 block of Cedar Run Road, according to District Attorney Pier Hess Graf. “It was one of the most horrific scenes I’ve been to and knowing that it was suffered by children makes it that much worse,” Graf told PennLive Wednesday. Lebanon Man Identified As Pedestrian Killed In Crash
A man born and raised in Lebanon has been identified as the victim of a fatal crash. John Givens Jr., 59, of the 700 block of Lehman Street, has been identified as the crash victim by the Lebanon County coroner. He was struck while crossing East Cumberland Street at North Lincoln Avenue on Thursday around 7 a.m., as Daily Voice reported at the time. He died shortly afterwards at a nearby medical center. Lebanon Man Fatally Struck
A Lebanon man died hours after being hit by a car on Thursday morning, according to area police. The 59-year-old man was struck while crossing East Cumberland Street at North Lincoln Avenue around 7 a.m. He was taken to a local medical facility where he was pronounced dead. The 78-year-old driver stayed on the scene and assisted police with their investigation. Speed was not considered a factor but the investigation is ongoing. The man's identity has not been released. In response to Pennsylvania Gov. Tom Wolf’s recent mask mandate, some doctors are providing parents with exemptions so their children won’t be forced to wear a mask in school. A suspected gunman in Lebanon shooting surrendered to police after less than a day on the run. Wensly Morales-Rodriguez, 23, of Lebanon surrendered to police on Thursday, in connection to a shooting in the 500 block of North 9th Street on Sept. 1. Lebanon City police were called to a "subject hit by gunfire" on Wednesday around 9 p.m., police said in a statement on Friday. For ten years dozens of children were placed in the home of a Lebanon man who sexually abused them and documented it in hundreds of photographs. Scott P. Thomas, 55, of the 900 block of Lilac Lane in Lebanon, pleaded no contest to charges of sexual assaulting children, multiple counts and charges for possession of child pornography, as well as a charge for possession of methamphetamine in Feb. 2021, according to court documents. A 43-year-old man from Pennsylvania has been arrested in connection with a shooting on the Jersey Shore, authorities said.
