The woman was found with a gunshot wound to the right side of her face when police responded for a person with a gun in the 3400 block of North 21st Street at 10:53 a.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 2, the Philadelphia Police Department said.
She was taken by the Philadelphia Fire Department Medic Unit to Temple University Hospital where she was placed in critical condition, according to police.
A weapon was found and an arrest was made, police said. No details on the arrest have been made available at this time.
The investigation is ongoing with the Philadelphia Police Department Shooting Investigation Group.
