Live Hand Grenade Found In Philadelphia: Police
A live hand grenade was discovered in Philadelphia, prompting a swift police response, authorities announced on Monday, March 3. Officers from the 3rd District were called to the 1000 block of South 4th Street at 12:19 p.m. after reports of a device, police said. A staging area was set up at 4th and Washington Avenue in a recreation parking lot while the Philadelphia Police Bomb Squad investigated. By 1 p.m., the Bomb Squad determined the grenade was "inactive" and "inert", officials said. No injuries were reported.

ATM Explodes At Philly Sandwich Shop, Police Say
An early morning explosion damaged an ATM outside Johnny’s Hots restaurant in Philadelphia, authorities said. Police were called to the 1200 block of Delaware Avenue at 1:26 a.m. on Friday, Dec. 27, where they found the machine severely damaged by explosive materials, according to a press release. The Bomb Squad responded and secured the scene, police said. No access was gained to the ATM’s money-holding area, and no arrests have been made. Anyone with information is urged to call or text Philadelphia Police’s tip line at 215-686-TIPS (8477). Tips can remain anonymous.

Live Grenade Removed By Bomb Squad From MontCo Home: Police
A live grenade was removed from a Montgomery County home by the county sheriff's bomb squad on Sunday, Nov. 17, according to police. The grenade was found by a resident of the 2500 block of Line Lexington Road in Hatfield Township while they were using a metal detector at Greenlane Park, the Hatfield Police Department said in a news release. The resident was unsure if it was a live grenade and took it home, according to police. After getting the grenade home, the resident called police.
