Authorities have announced an arrest made in an overdose death nearly two years later in Bucks County. Following an "extremely lengthy" investigation with Springfield police and Bucks County detectives, William Wright, 38, was arrested on Tuesday, June 18, Springfield police said. A Bucks County jury convicted a Warminster man of multiple felony counts including rape of a child on Thursday, June 13, the District Attorney's Office says. Umair Mir, 39, was previously accused of sexually abusing two sisters over a period of five years, prosecutors said. A Warrington man is in police custody on child pornography charges, authorities say. Police said they received a cyber tip in March that a Kik Messenger account "shared, disseminated, and/or uploaded apparent child sexual abuse material" on the platform. Pennsylvania State Police investigators are seeking tips in a 9-year-old girl's cold case murder. Carol Ann Dougherty was found dead inside St. Mark’s Roman Catholic Church in Bristol Borough on Oct. 22, 1962. She was strangled and had been sexually assaulted, according to troopers. A two-car crash on the Montgomery-Bucks county line injured four people over the weekend, according to Hatfield police. Fraudster Contractor Arrested In Bucks County, Authorities Say
A fraudster has been arrested in Bucks County after police said he scammed a client out of money. Walter Charles Porter Jr. accepted a payment for hardscape work in April 2021 under "Walts Outdoor Living Spaces," Bedminster police said. As of April 2024, Porter never completed the work, nor did he provide, materials or a refund to the victims when asked multiple times over the years, police said.
