1 Killed, 1 Injured In Shooting At PA Senior Living Facility (Update)

One person was killed and another was injured in a shooting at a senior living facility in Pennsylvania on Thursday, Oct. 24, according to District Attorney Christopher de Barrena-Sarobe.

An 89-year-old woman is dead and a 90-year-old man is currently in the hospital with a gunshot wound, according to a press conference held by the DA at the facility.

Officers were dispatched to a reported shooting at Manatawny Manor in Pottstown late Thursday morning, according to the Chester County Department of Emergency Services.

Soon emergency services were called to help two gunshot victims at the facility located at 30 Old Schuylkill Road in East Coventry Township.

Finally, Chester County Coroner's Office was called to the scene just before 12:30 p.m.

his incident is being investigated as a murder-suicide attempt, the DA explained. "There is no threat to the public or anyone else in the nursing home," the DA said.

The investigation is ongoing. Anyone with information about this shooting is asked to call the Chester County Detectives at 610-344-6866.
