The officer was conducting stationary work enforcement in the westbound lanes with his emergency lights fully activated near milepost 340.5 in Philadelphia, when he was struck around 3:50 a.m., a spokesperson for the agency said. The trooper sustained moderate injuries as a result of the impact and was taken by Philadelphia Fire and EMS to the hospital for further evaluation.

Officer Hospitalized With Medical Episode While Arresting Wanted Person, Police Say An Allentown police officer was hospitalized after suffering a medical episode while trying to arrest a wanted person, officials said. Police said only that the officer suffered some sort of medical episode while attempting to apprehend the suspect around 12:45 p.m. Monday, June 10 on the 600 block of N. 9th Street.
