Troopers were called to a residence on Creek Road in Metal Township on Tuesday, Jan. 14, after a sudden and unexplained death was reported. Sheriff Jr., 57, Of Chambersburg, Dies In Crash: PSP A 57-year-old motorcyclist died at the scene of a crash along Interstate 81 on Saturday, Aug. 10, Pennsylvania State Police Chambersburg announced the following day.  Carl L. Sheriff Jr., of Chambersburg, was riding a 2015 Victory Motorcycle on the off-ramp from I-81 South to Exit 14 when he side-swiped a relative's 2022 purple Polaris Slingshot around 8:24 p.m. Trooper Ethen Everetts detailed in the release. Delbert Zimmerman, 19, Of Shippensburg, Dies In Crash A 19-year-old man died at the scene of a motorcycle crash on Sunday, Aug. 11, Pennsylvania State Police Chambersburg announced the following morning.  Delbert Zimmerman, of Shippensburg, was driving a 2013 Kawasaki Ninja on Rice Road when he struck a utility pole at a high rate of speed at 9:08 p.m., PSP Trooper Spenser Myers detailed in the release. The deadly crash happened in the 7100 block of Rice Road in Southampton Township. No other vehicles were involved in the collision.
