Penn State Mont Alto Could Close As University System Announces Major Cuts Penn State University will close some of its Commonwealth Campuses as part of a major restructuring effort, citing declining enrollment and shifting demographics across Pennsylvania. Penn State President Neeli Bendapudi announced the decision in a letter on Tuesday, Feb. 25. The university's 19th president said the system can no longer sustain all of its Commonwealth schools, which operate as satellites of the main State College campus. Automotive Enthusiast Killed In DUI Crash, Pennsylvania State Police Say A 36-year-old man has died at the scene of a crash on Route 341, Pennsylvania State Police announced on Tuesday.  Jordan T. Mushinski of Grantville was pronounced dead in the 3500 block of Route 341/Colebrook Road in Conewago Township at 10:12 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 26, investigating Trooper Matthew Condrad detailed in the release on Feb. 27.  Mushinski had been driving his 2002 Toyota Tacoma east "when he failed to negotiate a slight left turn" and that's when he side-swiped a tree, struck a utility pole — flipping the truck onto the driver's side —  hit a …

Gettysburg College Staff 'Flattened' In Tractor-Trailer Crash: Authorities A 35-year-old adjunct professor, college staff member, and Ph.D. student has been identified as the victim of a fatal tractor-trailer crash on Friday, according to the Adams County Coroner's office. Sara Gifford most recently of Dillsburg, died at the scene of the crash in the northbound lanes of Route 15 at the intersection with Bonners Hill Road in Latimore Township, authorities confirmed to Daily Voice.  The crash happened just before 4 p.m. on Dec. 22, according to PennDOT.  A Life Lion helicopter was initially called to the scene and later the coroner's office was called.
