A young woman who was shot while she was held hostage with 10 classmates at the West Nickle Mines Amish School in 2006 has died from her injuries according to public records and her obituary published by Furman Home for Funerals on Tuesday, Sept. 3. Philadelphia Man Raped Child, Chester County Court Finds
A Philadelphia man was convicted on multiple felony counts including rape and indecent assault of a child in a Chester County court on Wednesday, Feb. 28, authorities say. Gregory Shamberger, 59, first came under investigation in August 2021, Parkesburg police wrote in a release. Detectives said he sexually assaulted the victim multiple times. Chester County detectives assisted Parkesburg police in the investigation, the department said. Shamberger was remanded to the Chester County Prison pending his formal sentencing hearing, authorities added.

Trooper Causes Crash Hospitalizing 4 People — Including Himself: PA State Police
Four people, including a trooper, were taken to a hospital following a four-vehicle crash, Pennsylvania State Police announced in a release on Feb. 23. The crash began with a pursuit on US 30 East in West Whiteland Township at 2:46 p.m. on Feb. 3, as detailed in the PSP release. PSP Trooper Craig A. Fry, 30 of Coatesville, was pursuing Syrron N. Ohio 'Swatter' Caught In Pennsylvania, Police Say
A Parkesburg man is charged with felony "swatting" in Ohio, according to borough police. Michael Eugene Carpenter was arrested on an Ohio warrant on Tuesday, Jan. 9, authorities said in a release. "Swatting" involves reporting a false crime to authorities — often a bomb threat or hostage situation — to provoke a police response, officials said. Carpenter was released after posting a $10,000 bond on Wednesday, Jan. 10, court records show. Details of his pending extradition to Ohio were not immediately available.

AGT Magician, PA Dad Scott Alexander Dead At 52
Scott Alexander, a Pennsylvania husband, father of three, and professional magician died suddenly after suffering a stroke, his wife Jenny said on Instagram. He was 52. Alexander — who once wowed TV audiences on "America's Got Talent" in 2011 and has ties to both Parkesburg and Lancaster — was working on a cruise ship in the Caribbean Sea at the time of his death, Jenny said.
