East Petersburg Man's Cause Of Death Revealed After Standoff Turned Fatal Fire (

The cause of death has been released for a man found dead after a "domestic incident" turned standoff ending with a house fire, the Lancaster County Coroner explained. Mark D. Hackman, 53, of 6294 High Street in East Petersburg Borough, died by a self-inflicted gunshot to the head, and the manner was suicide, according to Chief Deputy Coroner Eric Bieber. He "had been drinking, was armed with a firearm, and was threatening to burn the house down," when the Northern Lancaster County Regional police department were called to a "domestic-in-progress" at his home around 8:30 p.m. on Sunday…

Barricaded Felon Caused Police Incident In Columbia Borough: Authorities
A police incident closed a street and put two schools in Columbia Borough into lockdowns on Friday, police announced. The incident began when police attempted to issue a warrant for 40-year-old Charles Nathan Harris for a warrant related to a weapons violation, the police explained on the evening of Jan. 5. Court records show the weapons offense happened in Mount Joy Borough on Jan. 18, 2023, and he forfeited his bail on Dec. 29, 2023. Barricaded Gunman Strangled Someone Before Standoff In Central PA: Police
A 53-year-old gunman seriously assaulted someone before he barricaded himself in his home and fired two shots on Monday, police announced the following afternoon. Scott Richard Golicher "was transported to the East Lampeter Township Police Department and later transferred to a local hospital by ambulance for evaluation before being released," as stated in the police release. The township was called to his home in the 100 block of Crest Avenue at 11:19 p.m. on Sept. 25, 2023, as detailed in the release.
