A 51-year-old woman has died a week after being ejected during a head-on crash along Interstate 81, Pennsylvania State Police and the Dauphin County Coroner confirmed to Daily Voice on Tuesday, April 9. Tractor-Trailer Rollover Crash On I-81 In Lebanon County Clears: PennDOT
A tractor-trailer crash caused miles of delays on Interstate 81, Pennsylvania Department of Transportation officials told Daily Voice on Tuesday, April 2. The tractor-trailer rolled over after it crashed at mile marker 93.5 on I-81 northbound at 1 p.m. on April 2, PennDOT spokesperson Fritzi Schreffler explained. Traffic was diverted starting at Exit 90: PA 72 - LEBANON and all lanes were closed through Exit 100: PA 443 - PINE GROVE. There is no word from the scene about any injuries, and it is unknown what was in the trailer. The roadway reopened at 5 p.m.

A passenger has died in a crash involving a tractor-trailer on Interstate 81, the Pennsylvania State Police announced on Friday morning. State Troopers were called to the fatal crash along I-81 in Franklin County a minute before midnight on March 21. A serious crash on Interstate 81 caused some major deals near the Pennslyvania/Maryland state line on Monday, according to authorities. The crash happened in the northbound lanes of I-81 at mile marker 10.3 in Guilford Township, Greencastle at 9:28 a.m. on March 11, according to PennDOT. State police investigated the crash. Funeral details and a statement from the family have been released after five women returning from Umrah in Mecca, Saudi Arabia were killed on Interstate 81 on Tuesday evening, Jan. 16. The women "were on their way back home from the Dulles airport," their family told Daily Voice. They were struck dead by a tractor-trailer at the 199.3-mile marker in Scott Township, approximately 12 miles north of Scranton, troopers detailed in a release. Police activity shuttered a ramp along Interstate 81 in Central Pennsylvania on Saturday night and now officers are searching for witnesses. A third vehicle fire was reported on a major highway in Central Pennsylvania on Thursday morning. A four-door sedan caught fire on Route 222 North shortly before 8 a.m. on Dec. 14, according to a release by West Earl Fire Station 29. Volunteer firefighters took Engine 29-1 to the and quickly extinguished the fire, officials with the station explained. The vehicle fire briefly closed the roadway just south of the Ephrata Exit.
