Federal Court Overturns Life Sentence, Murder Conviction Of PA Man
A man serving a life sentence following a murder conviction has had his conviction overturned, the Lebanon County District Attorney's Office announced on Thursday, Sept. 5.
Eddie Williams, 50, of Lebanon, had been convicted of murder in the first degree, robbery, and numerous related offenses on Oct. 14, 2015, the DA explained.

Man Killed, Infant Shot In PA, Police Say (Developing)
A double shooting has left a 25-year-old man dead and a 1-year-old boy injured, Philadelphia police announced late on Wednesday night, Sept. 4.
Police were called to the shooting in the 3200 block of D Street, in the 25th District, at 6:21 p.m., PPD detailed in the release.
The man "was shot multiple times throughout his body," the police said. He was taken by PFD-Medic Unit to Temple University Hospital where he was pronounced dead at 6:46 p.m.

A local government trash hauler was involved in a crash in which speeding was a factor, Pennsylvania State Police announced on Wednesday, Sept. 4.
Lanchei A. Williams, 45, of Philadelphia, crashed into a guardrail along the Vietnam Veterans Memorial Highway in Tinicum Township, Delaware County at about 5:30 a.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 3, according to Pennsylvania State Police.
Williams suffered minor injuries and was taken to Taylor Hospital, police said.

Three armed carjacking suspects got away from Philadelphia police after crashing the stolen vehicle during a chase, authorities said.
On Tuesday, Sept. 3, at approximately 5:10 a.m., a male victim was approached by three armed males demanding he exit his vehicle, a champagne-colored 2017 Nissan Sentra, on the 6700 block of Woodland Avenue, Philadelphia police said.

A police officer, high school baseball and wrestling coach, middle school baseball and volleyball coach, as well as the founding member of a non-profit, has died.
