Four people were arrested after a wild police pursuit that ended in Tinicum Township around 1:24 a.m. on Thursday, according to Pennsylvania State Police.
Officers from several Delaware County police departments were chasing the group after they allegedly broke into vehicles across the county and stole a Dodge Durango in Prospect Park Borough, state police said.
Prospect Park police spotted the stolen SUV and began a pursuit that ended on State Route 291 in Tinicum Township when the suspects crashed the Durango, troopers detailed in the release.
Instead of surrendering, the four suspects jumped into a large pond in an attempt to get away, authorities said.
State troopers and local police established a perimeter around the pond, quickly capturing all four suspects without further incident, police said.
The Pennsylvania State Police assisted in the arrests but were not the primary arresting agency, according to the release.
