SPCA Rescues 124 Animals, Largest Farm Cruelty Case In Bucks County History
The Bucks County SPCA rescued 124 farm animals neglected in horrendous conditions in Wrightstown, authorities announced late on Thursday, Aug. 8. The animals were at Narrow Way Farm at 887 Worthington Mill Road in Wrightstown Township, the SPCA said. Among the rescued animals were 58 goats, 49 chickens, 10 pigs, five sheep and two steers, the SPCA said on Facebook. Two other animals were found dead on the property. The Philadelphia woman charged with murdering 72-year-old Richard MacFarland will stand trial, the Bucks County District Attorney's Office announced Thursday, July 18. Meghan Macklin, 46, is accused of stabbing MacFarland to death in his Wrightstown home last Oct. 7, authorities said previously. A tornado touched down in Bucks County on Saturday, April 1, one of six twisters confirmed by the National Weather Service to have made its way through the Delaware Valley over the weekend. A man with a distinctly-braided beard wanted for swiping more than $1,300 in allergy medication from a Pennsylvania CVS was arrested in New Jersey, authorities said. A white man with a long beard braided in the center of his chin -- later identified as Kevin Cross -- entered the CVS store at 755 Durham Road in Wrightstown around 6 p.m. Dec. 6, local police said.
