Two Penn State Students Arrested For Threats Posted On Social Media: Authorities
Two Penn State Altoona students have been arrested in connection to threats they made on social media, authorities say. Juan Namakura, 19, of Illinois, was arrested first followed by Benjamin Dous, 20, of Pennsylvania for posting threats on the social media app Yik Yak — posting on the Altoona Penn State campus within 5 miles of each other on Oct. 30, according to the criminal complaints obtained by Daily Voice. Montco Teen Charged With Threatening To Shoot Up High School In Lehigh Valley: Report
A high school in the Lehigh Valley was under increased security for one day last week and a Montgomery County teenager was arrested after police say he threatened to "shoot up the school," according to LehighValleyLive. The 18-year-old Phoenixville resident was released from Northampton County Jail and charged with a felony count of terroristic threats causing serious public inconvenience, and other related charges, the outlet says. Several schools across the United States closed on Friday while others issued warnings and boosted security following what authorities said were unfounded threats on TikTok of a school shooting. Police Arrest 3 Chester County Middle School Students On Social Media Threat Charges
Three middle students in Chester County arrested last week are facing social media threat charges, authorities said. Police launched an investigation during the week of Dec. 6 after learning of multiple threats against Peirce Middle School in West Chester, some of which were posted on social media, West Goshen police said in a Dec. 15 release.
