A Pottstown man was sentenced to 8 ½ to 17 years in Pennsylvania State Prison for trying to meet a 12-year-old girl for sex in Bensalem Township, authorities said. Uturah Golson, 33, pleaded guilty in April to criminal attempt to commit rape of a child, criminal attempt to commit involuntary deviate sexual intercourse and criminal solicitation to photograph or film a child sex act, according to the Bucks County District Attorney. A registered sexual offender with a history of abusing children and fighting — who was wanted in connection with a violent rape in Elizabethtown Borough — has been shot dead by US Marshals, according to the Lancaster County District Attorney's office. Authorities in Montgomery County have released conversations between a 29-year-old Philadelphia man and undercover detectives, who he thought was actually a 14-year-old girl. Pennsylvania State Police are seeking a convicted sex offender who they say hasn't kept up on his registration requirements. Matthew Charles Ross, 37, of Lehigh Township, was convicted of sexual abuse of children and dissemination in February 2018, according to the state Megan's Law website. A teacher has been arrested for a "sex offense" with a student at Pennsylvania high school, police announced on Wednesday morning. Christopher Thompson has been charged following an investigation by the Susquehanna Regional Police on July 25, 2023.
