Mary Frances Peiffer of Auburn died of blunt force injuries, Lehigh County Coroner Daniel A. Buglio said. Gun Fired During Schuylkill County Road Rage Incident, Troopers Say State police in Schuylkill County are looking for a driver who they say shot at another person on the road last Tuesday, May 28.  The suspect was in a black, newer model BMW SUV on Schuylkill Mountain Road in South Manheim Township, troopers said.  During a road rage incident, police said the suspect pulled next to the victim and fired a handgun at a 17-year-old's 1989 Ford.  He was described as a white man in his 30s.  Anyone with information is asked to call PSP Schuylkill Haven at 570-593-2000.

Route 61 In Schuylkill County Reopens After Gas Line Break (Updated) Route 61 between Frackville and St. Clair has reopened, PennDOT told Daily Voice Wednesday evening.  The highway was shut down on Tuesday morning, May 14 after a contractor accidentally struck a gas main during a reconstruction project, officials said.  Traffic was detoured to US 209, Route 901 and Interstate 81 while crews repaired the line.  Note: This story has been updated.

New York Woman Tried To Smuggle Drugs Into PA Prison, Troopers Say A Bronx woman is in state police custody after authorities said she tried to bring drugs into a Pennsylvania prison.  Natasha Santana, 42, was trying to get the drugs to an inmate at the State Correctional Facility Mahanoy in Frackville, PSP said in a release.  She was arrested without incident, they added.  Court records show Santana posted 10 percent of her $10,000 bail and has a preliminary hearing scheduled for May 9.
