A red Nissan Pathfinder lost control and struck a tree in the left median on the 400 block of Roosevelt Boulevard N around 12:30 p.m., city police said. Two juveniles, the driver and a passenger, were taken to St. Christopher Hospital by Medic 29. The rear passenger was declared dead at the scene by Medic 29 at 12:54 p.m., police said. The driver was detained for investigation.

Thieves Snatch 56 Cases Of Pork From Truck In Northeast Philly: Authorities Philadelphia police are investigating an early morning cargo theft in the Northeast, officials told Daily Voice.  Fifty-six cases of pork were stolen from the back of a truck on the 2800 block of Charter Street just before 2 a.m. Wednesday, April 10, PPD said.  Two suspects fled onto Red Lion Road in a silver or bronze Lexus SUV, and were last seen on Roosevelt Boulevard, according to investigators.  No arrests have been made as of Wednesday afternoon, they added.  It's at least the second case of cargo theft in Northeast Philadelphia in the last month.

Driver Sought In Deadly Northeast Philly Hit-Run A 42-year-old man is dead following a hit-and-run in Rhawnhurst, Philadelphia police told Daily Voice.  The fatal crash happened on the 7600 block of Roosevelt Boulevard just after midnight on Monday, Sept. 18, authorities said.  The victim was found unresponsive in the northbound middle lane and pronounced dead at the scene, they added. Police did not report his name.  The suspect vehicle is described as a Toyota Prius between model years 2010 and 2015, based on parts recovered from the scene.  The crash remains under investigation, PPD said.
