Road Closure Alert: Almshouse Road Shut Down Due To Fallen Tree On Power Lines
Almshouse Road is closed between Birdie Lane and Valley Road after a large tree was found leaning on power wires, officials announced early Friday, Nov. 22, 2024. The Doylestown Township Police Department issued the closure notice at 5:54 a.m., stating that crews were en route to handle the situation. Motorists are advised to avoid the area and seek alternate routes until the road is reopened. Crews are working to resolve the issue.

Area police reported scattered outages as wind and rain pulled down power lines. Lower Saucon Township police reported that Lower Saucon Road was closed between Woodland Road and Woodland Hills Court due to a tree down on power wires. Upper Saucon Township police reported that Oakhurst Drive was closed between Stonesthrow Road and Old Bethlehem Pike due to utility lines across the roadway. The incidents were reported late morning on Friday, Aug. 9. Meanwhile, due to the severe weather, the Doylestown Township Administrative Offices closed at 2:30 p.m.

Downed trees and power lines had closed roads after the storm in Eastern Pennsylvania on Wednesday, Aug. 7, authorities said. Crash Shuts Down Lincoln Highway In Chester County: Police
Authorities are responding to an accident on Route 30 in West Whiteland on Monday morning, June 17. Route 30 is shut down east of Springdale Drive and some area residents have lost power, police said around 10 a.m. The PECO outage map shows more than 100 customers in the area are affected. Service is expected to be restored by noon, PECO says.

Power Outage Closes Elementary School In Allentown
Allentown's Ramos Elementary School is closed on Tuesday, May 28 due to a power outage, district officials say. Jackson Early Childhood Center is also closed for the day, administrators said. No other Allentown schools are affected by the outage. According to the PPL outage map, the issue was caused by a tripped breaker or blown fuse. Crews have been dispatched to make repairs and PPL said they hope to restore power by 3:30 p.m.
