Barricade Situation: Shots Fired At Active Scene In Philadelphia A gunman barricaded in a Philadelphia home brought a large police presence to the scene Monday, July 10, city police told Daily Voice on Monday morning.  Officers were called to the 4500 block of Bleigh Avenue in Mayfair just before 11 a.m. the department said. Reports indicated a suspect was firing a gun from inside a home, police wrote.  Responding officers found bullet "casings on the premises" and declared a barricade at 11:18 a.m., authorities said.  Footage from the scene posted to the Citizen App showed officers in tactical gear armed with long guns and a police …

SWAT Standoff Unfolds In Philadelphia A man who barricaded himself in a Philadelphia home created a SWAT standoff Friday, March 3, authorities said. Police responded to a man on a roof of a home on the 500 block of E. Godfrey Avenue around 2:10 p.m. He went back inside the home and police declared a barricade situation at 4:30 p.m. The SWAT team responded as well. This is a developing story. Check back for more.

PA Trooper Killed Dad In Murder-Suicide, Authorities Say A man shot and killed his father with a crossbow before taking his own life on Wednesday, according to Northwest Regional Police. Wesley Frey Jr., 31, shot his father Wesley Frey Sr., 61, in the chest with a crossbow around at a home on the 1200 block of Wissler Lane around 9 p.m. A family member witnessed who shooting, fled from the scene and contacted police. When police arrived, Frey Jr. had barricaded himself in a bedroom on the second floor.
