Snowfall totals in New Jersey and Pennsylvania have surged higher than earlier reports, with some areas now measuring up to 20 inches, the National Weather Service announced Friday, Nov. 22.
High Point, NJ, has officially recorded 20 inches of snow as of Friday morning, marking the highest total in the region.

A 45-year-old Luzerne County, PA man was arrested and charged after he slashed a woman in the abdomen and choked her in Morris County on Saturday, Oct. 5.
Patrick O'Kane, a corrections officer with the Federal Bureau of Prisons, was traveling with the victim and a photographer to take pictures of a local campground, Morris County Prosecutor Robert Carroll, Chief of Detectives Robert McNally, and Mount Olive Police Chief Michael Spitzer said.

Tornado Watch Shifts, Now Covers These Counties Across NJ, PA As Debby Creeps In
The National Weather Service has shifted its tornado watch across New Jersey and Pennsylvania as Hurricane Debby creeps in.
In New Jersey, the tornado watch is in effect through 10 p.m. Friday, Aug. 9 and covers Bergen, Essex, Hunterdon, Mercer, Middlesex, Morris, Passaic, Somerset, Sussex, Union and Warren counties in North Jersey.
In Pennsylvania, the tornado watch is issued in Lehigh, Northampton, Carbon, Monroe, and Bucks counties.
The tornado threat for South Jersey has diminished since the initial watch was issued early Friday morning, which has since been canceled.

The National Weather Service says parts of New Jersey and Pennsylvania could see more snow than what was initially predicted due to a shift in the storm track.

William Harbeson, 82, of Boonton, was released by a federal judge in Newark on $100,000 unsecured bond, with conditions, after being charged by agents from the U.S. Department of Homeland Security’s Homeland Security Investigations New Jersey Division.

A New Jersey high school food service worker was caught trafficking child porn, federal authorities said.
Ezra W. Saphire, 29, of West Orange, was working at a high school in East Hanover (Morris County) when investigators found 1,014 video files and 659 still images of child sexual abuse, U.S. Attorney Philip R. Sellinger said.

Two men accused of stealing copper wire from Lowe’s in Morris County were charged, authorities said.
Raul Lopez, 35, was identified as one of two men seen shoplifting the copper wire from the International Drive store in Flanders around 12:35 p.m. on March 11, Mount Olive police said.
