52 Arrested In 'Elaborate' Cockfighting Ring In South Jersey: Police
More than 50 people were arrested after police broke up a large cockfighting ring in Atlantic County, authorities said. Galloway Township police executed a search warrant at a home on the 300 block of South Bremen Avenue on Saturday, Mar. 9, the department said in a news release. When officers arrived, a large group of people were there and many tried to run away before they were detained. Investigators found an "elaborate cockfighting operation" that included a fighting ring, seating for spectators, and several cockfighting kits. A Burlington County man was arrested in Georgia after making off with nearly $20,000 during a home burglary in Mercer County, authorities said. Officers responding to a burglary report at a home in the Penns Neck development in West Windsor around 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, June 29 found that the home had been broken in through a window and burglarized of nearly $20,000 in jewelry and other valuables, local police said in a release on Wednesday, Sept. 7. Armed AutoZone Carjacking Ends With South Jersey Man's Arrest
An armed carjacking at an AutoZone store in Toms River ended with an arrest of a a 20-year-old man from Burlington County, authorities said. Devin Copley-Clevenger, of Lumberton, is accused of stealing the victim's car at gunpoint in the parking lot of Route 37 east, after the victim agreed to give someone a ride to AutoZone when their car broke down Friday around 4:10 p.m., local police said.
