Vacationing PA Dad, Engineer Dies Saving Someone Else's Child
Duk Shin died a hero.
The 49-year-old Berwyn dad died on Wednesday, March 27, saving a child in distress in the water while on vacation with his family, according to a GoFundMe campaign and obituary.
Duk is survived by his wife, Ashley Gong, and their children, Mason, 9, and Colton, 7.

Christian Mazzariello, Bergen County Native, Dies At 20 Years Old
Christian Mazzariello, a native of Emerson, died on Thursday, Feb. 8 at the age of 20, after battling a brief illness according to his obituary.
Mazzariello was a student (Class of 2025) at Lehigh University in Bethlehem, PA, majoring in computer science at the P.C. Rossin College of Engineering and Applied Science, the university announced in a statement.
"Christian was a bright light in the university and engineering communities," Ricardo Hall, Vice President for Student Affairs at Leigh said. "He will be deeply missed."

NJ Man, 27, Among 2 Dead In Upstate NY Crash
A New Jersey man was among two people who died in an Upstate New York crash over the weekend.
A 65-year-old man was heading north in the southbound lane of Interstate 87 in a Mini Countryman, when he struck a Volvo XC70 head-on around 10:30 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 3 in Chestertown, NY, State Police said.
The front seat Volvo passenger, Matthew G. Huff, 27, of Westfield, NJ, and rear passenger, Kerry O’Reilly, 30, of Dorchester, MA, were pronounced dead at the scene.
The Volvo driver -- Lauren Huff, 30, of Boston, MA -- was airlifted to UVM Medical Center in critical condition.

A former Lehigh University student will spend up to 20 years behind bars before he's sent back to China after admitting to poisoning his roommate with a heavy metal substance three years ago, according to several news reports.
Yukai Yang, now 25, pleaded guilty to attempted murder last November, acknowledging that he bought thallium in March 2018 and began slipping it into Juwan Royal’s food and mouthwash, CBS Philly reports.
