Driver, 18, Seriously Hurt In I-295 Crash: State Police An 18-year-old driver was seriously hurt in an early morning crash on I-295 in Mercer County, state police confirmed. Onur Deniz, of Mount Laurel, was behind the wheel of a Volkswagen heading on the southbound ramp to Rt. 1 in Lawrence Township when the vehicle ran off the road and struck the guardrail while negotiating a curve to the right around 3:25 a.m. on Monday, Sept. 12, NJSP Trooper Brandi Slota told DailyVoice.com. Deniz suffered serious injuries in the crash, Slota said. The accident remains under investigation. Additional details were not released.

AG: NJ Police Officer Busted For Child Porn A Lawrence Township police officer was busted on child porn charges, authorities announced Thursday. Officer Shane Hickey, 29, who lives in the Mercer County town where he works, was issued a summons charging him with possession of child sexual abuse materials, Acting New Jersey Attorney General Andrew J. Bruck said. State Police charged Hickey with emailing himself 45 child porn files on a cellphone following an investigation by the NJSP Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Unit. Hickey has been suspended from the department pending the outcome of the case, Bruck said.

Maria Angélica Moran Moreira, 54, of Lawrenceville, was hit by a northbound vehicle about 6:30 a.m. Monday near Bakers Basin Road in Lawrence Township, police said.
