Newtown Barricade: 2.5 Hour Standoff Ends In Arrest
Residents of a Newtown housing development were ordered to shelter in place on Sunday morning, March 17 while township police worked to arrest an armed suspect, the department said in a release. NY Man Wanted In Maryland Captured In Pennsylvania, Police Say
A fugitive was captured in Pennsylvania early Wednesday morning. The unnamed man has a Rochester, NY address, a South Carolina driver's license, and was wanted on a warrant in Maryland, the Camp Hill police explained. An officer with the CHPD pulled the man over for a traffic violation at 12:48 a.m. on March 13. During the traffic stop, the officer learn the man's license was suspended and that he was also a fugitive in Maryland. 52 Arrested In 'Elaborate' Cockfighting Ring In South Jersey: Police
More than 50 people were arrested after police broke up a large cockfighting ring in Atlantic County, authorities said. Galloway Township police executed a search warrant at a home on the 300 block of South Bremen Avenue on Saturday, Mar. 9, the department said in a news release. When officers arrived, a large group of people were there and many tried to run away before they were detained. Officer Shot Responding To Domestic Incident In Mercer County
A police officer was shot in Mercer County while responding to a domestic incident, authorities said. Hamilton officers were called to a disturbance on the 1800 block of Orchard Avenue around 2:20 a.m. when the gunman opened fire on the officers, the department said. The injured officer was taken to CHS-Fuld and is expected to survive. The Mercer County Prosecutor's Office and the New Jersey Attorney General's Office are investigating this incident.
