Driver Wanted For Kennett Square Hit-Run, Police Say
Kennett Square police are searching for a driver who they said fled the scene of an accident on Thursday, May 9. A man in a white Chrysler 200 pulled onto Center Street from Scarlett Alley and struck another car after running the stop sign on West Cypress Street, according to authorities. He "pulled over and briefly interacted with the other vehicle" before leaving the scene, police said. Investigators believe he fled south on Center Street and then turned east on Magnolia Street. Delaware Teen Made Bomb Threat Against Chesco School, Say Police
A teenager in Delaware is charged with making terroristic threats against a school in Chester County, according to authorities. Kennett High School in Kennett Square Township was evacuated early on Thursday, Nov. 3 after administrators learned of a bomb threat, as Daily Voice has reported. Students were bused home while township and county police swept the building with K9 units. No bombs were ever located in the building. Kennett Square Police Officer Swiftly Rescues Driver After Crash Into Creek
A Kennett Square police officer has been hailed as a hero for acting quickly to save a driver whose car had crashed into a creek Monday morning. Officer Mark Todd was the first on the scene of the crash along the 700 block of W. Cypress Street in Kennett Township just before 10 a.m., local police said. Todd reported seeing the car nearly completely submerged in Red Clay Creek, with only the back of the car floating but rapidly sinking, according to Kennett Square police.
