Two Philadelphia brothers are accused of running a sophisticated retail theft ring that targeted hardware stores across the region, prosecutors say.
Cuong Nam Ly, 33, and Chung Nam Ly, 31, face hundreds of felony charges related to an alleged conspiracy that operated throughout Berks, Bucks, Delaware, Luzerne, Montgomery, and Philadelphia counties, said the Montco District Attorney's Office.

After multiple deaths, 450 fires, 2,000 incidents of overheating, and $19 million in property damage – millions of dehumidifiers are being recalled, according to a release by the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission on Aug. 16, 2023.
The dehumidifiers were manufactured by Gree Electric Appliances, of China, and were sold under major brand names: Danby, De’Longhi, Fedders, Fellini, Frigidaire, GE, Gree, Kenmore, Norpole, Premiere, Seabreeze, SoleusAir and SuperClima, the CPSC explained.

Bucks Son Put Fentanyl In Mom's Iced Tea, Shot Her Dead In Philadelphia: DA (Update)
A 28-year-old Bucks County man is accused of killing his mom by spiking her iced tea with fentanyl then killing her in Philadelphia over the weekend, authorities said.
Sean Rivera, of the Morrisville section of Falls Township, drugged his 72-year-old mom, Carol J. Clark, before driving her to Philadelphia where he shot and killed her, Bucks County District Attorney Matthew Weintraub said.
Rivera left his mom's body in a shed, but officials found her early Monday morning, April 10, and pronounced her dead, Weintraub said.

Lehigh Valley Worker Killed In Forklift Accident: Coroner
A 61-year-old worker was killed Monday, March 14 in a forklift accident at a Lehigh Valley facility, authorities said.
Russell Molter, of Zionsville, was working at the Home Depot distribution center in the 8000 block of Willard Drive in Breinigsville when two forklifts collided, seriously injuring Molter's leg, Upper Macungie Police Lt. Peter Nickischer said.
He was pronounced dead at Lehigh Valley Hospital-Cedar Crest, the lieutenant said.

UPDATE: A Riverdale police officer was justified in shooting a fleeing suspect who slammed a vehicle into his patrol car, pinning him, following a pursuit that ended in Passaic County, a grand jury has found.
Officer Andrew Duffy had tried to stop Michael Rivera, 32, of Newark, who "jumped into a vehicle and started it" following a shoplifting at the Home Depot on northbound Route 23 the morning of Jan. 23, 2020, Acting New Jersey Attorney General Andrew J. Bruck said Tuesday.
Duffy tried but couldn't get the keys out of the ignition, then fell back as the Acura SUV sped off, he said.
