A Gettysburg man extradited from France to face sexual assault charges was denied bail on Friday, Jan. 17, according to court documents.
Ian Thomas Cleary, 31, was charged with Felony Sexual Assault stemming from an incident that allegedly occurred on Dec. 15, 2013, according to a criminal docket filed by the Gettysburg Borough Police Department.

Almost three years after a warrant was issued for the arrest of a Pennsylvania college student's accused rapist, he was taken into custody in France, numerous outlets reported in May. Despite his appeal to not be extradited, a court ruled that he will be sent back to Pennsylvania for a trial, according to a release on Monday, July 8, AP reported.

Police in Adams County are looking for a California man who they say admitted through a Facebook message that he raped an 18-year-old Gettysburg College student in 2013, reports say.
An affidavit alleges that Ian Cleary, 28, of Saratoga, California, stalked Shannon Keeler at a party in December 2013, and followed her to her dorm, where he sexually assaulted her, according to the Associated Press.
