These 64 PA Big Lots Stores Are Among Nearly 1,000 Closing Nationwide: Here's When
Big Lots, the popular discount retailer, is officially going out of business. The company, which filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy in September, has announced plans to close all 963 of its remaining stores nationwide, including the remaining 64 locations in Pennsylvania. Big Lots had 73 stores located in the Keystone State when they declared bankruptcy over the summer. More than 6% of all Big Lots were located in the commonwealth, with the most stores located in Texas. A 42-year-old Schuylkill County man used social media to threaten FBI agents, authorities said. Joshua Frisch, of Frackville, was sentenced on Aug. 7, to time served (six months) and three years of supervised release by United States District Court Judge Julia K. Munley for one count of Influencing a Federal Official by Threat, according to the U.S. Attorney's Office. Route 61 In Schuylkill County Reopens After Gas Line Break (

Route 61 between Frackville and St. Clair has reopened, PennDOT told Daily Voice Wednesday evening. The highway was shut down on Tuesday morning, May 14 after a contractor accidentally struck a gas main during a reconstruction project, officials said. Traffic was detoured to US 209, Route 901 and Interstate 81 while crews repaired the line. Note: This story has been updated.

UPDATE: The subject of this report has been located safely, per state police. Troopers in Schuylkill County are asking for the public's help to locate a missing teen. Maryanne Snyder, 17, of Frackville, was last seen around 9:30 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 22, near South Nice Street, state police said. She was wearing a black Reebok hoodie and a green dress, troopers said. Anyone with information is asked to call PSP Frackville at 570-874-5300. If spotted, call 911.

Authorities are now offering $10,000 for any information that leads to the killers of Hunter Mock and Angelito Caraballo. The pair were found dead in a wooded area near Ferndale Road in New Philadelphia Borough early on Oct. 10, state police have said. Nicole Oplinger, 42, was near the intersection of West Water and West Miner streets around 3 p.m. when she lost control of her car and struck multiple trees, said the Lehigh County Coroner's Office. A teenager is dead and three others injured after a car accident on Route 924, authorities say. On Facebook, loved ones identified the victim as 18-year-old Jenna M. Sallade. A Pennsylvania man accidentally shot himself in the leg while walking to his motel room in Cape May County, authorities said. Alexander Wiederhold, 30, of Frackville PA, was charged with child endangerment since he was walking with a 6-year-old at the time the gun went off in his waistband, Wildwood Crest police said. A Schuykill County man is dead following a fatal collision in Frackville, authorities say. Leonard Kristoff, 61, of Pottsville, was driving his motorcycle south on Valley Road at around 4:30 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 27, when he struck an oncoming truck that was turning left into a parking lot, state police said.
