: Retired Care Manager At LanCo Dept. Of Aging Set Bathtub On Fire
While still in the hospital recovering from burns, a 70-year-old woman has been charged with arson and cruelty to animals, the Ephrata Police announced on Friday, Oct. 18. Leslie G. Truitt, the 100 block of East Chestnut of Ephrata, is accused of "placing belongings of a former resident in her bathtub and setting them on fire," the police stated in the release. A 19-year-old man has been airlifted to the hospital and charged in the crash that sent him there, Pennsylvania State Police in Chambersburg announced on Thursday. Lazarus Anders Burleson of Mont Alto was driving a 2004 Chevrolet Trail Blazer north on Black Gap Road when he attempted to turn left onto Scotland Main Street, PSP troopers explained. 89-Year-Old Man Dies Days After Clothes Catch Fire Burning Brush At His PA Home: Coroner
An 89-year-old Pennsylvania man died of serious burns suffered while burning brush at his home last month, officials said. Leo C. Pavelco, of Slatington, was burning brush at his home when his clothing caught fire around 5 p.m. April 22, Lehigh County Coroner Daniel Buglio said. Pavelco was hospitalized with burns covering 30.5% of his body, and died on May 3, just after 8 p.m., at Lehigh Valley Hospital, Cedar Crest, Buglio said.

Philadelphia Fire Sends Five To Hospital, Officials Say
More than 75 Philadelphia firefighters responded to an early morning blaze in Strawberry Mansion on Tuesday, March 12, according to authorities. First responders were called to the 2800 block of Lehigh Avenue just after 3 a.m., a PFD spokesperson told Daily Voice. Five people were treated at the scene by EMS and then taken to area hospitals, the department said. Firefighters were on the scene for over an hour, they added. Three people were rescued from a burning home in North Philadelphia early Thursday morning, Feb. 8, fire officials told Daily Voice. The family killed in a duplex fire in York City on Wednesday morning have been identified by the York County Coroner's office that evening. The trio trapped on the third floor was 24-year-old Victor Gonzalez, his 25-year-old wife Giavanna Ricobene, and his 17-year-old sister Gabriella Cruz, according to Gay. A 56-year-old Union County man died while trying to light a fire pit but instead sparked an explosion that may have killed him, local police said. Officers arriving at the home on Warwick Road in Hillside found the man with burns covering nearly 75 percent of his body just before 4 p.m. Monday, Hillside Police Det. Natalie Ogonowski said.
