Camden Man Gets 55 Years Prison For Fatal Shooting
A 21-year-old Camden City man has been sentenced to 55 years in New Jersey State Prison for killing a Philadelphia man, authorities said.
Antony Shields was sentenced on Friday, April 19, according to Camden County Prosecutor Grace C. MacAulay. He must serve 85 percent of the sentence before becoming eligible for parole.
On Jan. 30, 2024, a jury convicted Shields of first-degree Felony Murder, first-degree Aggravated Manslaughter, and second-degree Conspiracy to Commit Robbery in connection to the death of Alex Fernandez, also 21.

A 23-year-old Philadelphia man has been arrested in connection with a fatal shooting in Camden, authorities said.
Myles Nicholson was charged with first-degree murder and weapons offenses in the death of Stefan Shaw, 31, of Maple Shade, (Burlington County), according to Camden County Prosecutor Grace C. MacAulay.
On Tuesday, July 18, at approximately 4:07 p.m., Camden County police responded to 27th Street and Federal Street after hearing gunfire, MacAulay said.

Philly Felon Charged In Fatal Shooting On South Jersey Street
A Philadelphia man has been charged in a fatal daytime shooting in Gloucester County, authorities said.
Tyler L. McKinney, 22, allegedly shot Brandon L. Blanton, 21, of Woodbury multiple times near Franklin and Wallace streets in Woodbury at about 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, according to the Gloucester County Prosecutor’s Office.
Blanton was taken to Cooper University Hospital in Camden, where he was later pronounced dead, Woodbury police said.
McKinney was charged with murder, felony murder, robbery and several weapons offenses, authorities said.

Lamar Johnson, of the 1000 block of Granite Street, was charged with first-degree attempted murder, aggravated assault and several weapons offenses, according to Burlington County Prosecutor Scott Coffina and Willingboro Township Public Safety Director Kinamo Lomon.

A fugitive in a fatal shooting has been captured by authorities, they said.
Derrell Martin located and arrested on Friday, authorities said.
Martin was charged on Oct. 14 on the charges of murder, two counts of attempted murder, two counts of aggravated assault and weapons offenses, according to Cumberland County Prosecutor Jennifer Webb-McRae.

A group of men from New Jersey, Pennsylvania and New York kidnapped a man on a Camden street, beat him and held him captive while trying to extort a $100,000 ransom from his family, federal authorities charged.
The victim was grabbed from behind last Thursday night by his abductors, who “covered his head, bound him with plastic restraints, assaulted him and put him into a vehicle,” Acting U.S. Attorney Rachael A. Honig said.

Grand Jurors Indict 14 In Shooting Of NJ State Trooper
Fourteen people were indicted Monday in connection with the shooting of a New Jersey State Police detective who was investigating a trailer park home invasion.
Attempted murder and aggravated assault charges were returned by a state grand jury in Trenton against Najzeir “Naz” Hutchings 22, Kareen “Kai” Warner, 20, and ex-con Tremaine Hadden, 28, all of Bridgeton, state Attorney General Gurbir S. Grewal said.

A suspended New Jersey corrections officer who opened fire in a doctor's office when he couldn't book an appointment has been indicted for murder, authorities said.
Bruce Gomola Jr., 52, was charged with first-degree murder, aggravated assault and possession of a weapon, according to Burlington County Prosecutor Scott Coffina.
