The shooter involved in a homicide in a quiet Berks County neighborhood is cooperating with authorities, according to a report. Police were dispatched for a reported shooting in the 1000 block of Little Mountain Road in Bethel Township at 7 a.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 6, a WFMZ 69 News report states. A passenger has been found guilty of Involuntary Manslaughter for a fatal crash on Interstate 78, the Berks County District Attorney's Office annoued on Friday, Oct. 11. Dustin Micheal Harbaugh, 37, of Lebanon, was convicted for causing the crash that killed Jason Carl Blauch, 38, of Myerstown, according to the DA and his obituary posted by Rohland Funeral Home Inc. Schuylkill County Man Killed In Berks Crash: Pennsylvania State Police
A Pottsville man has died after a crash in Bethel Township on Tuesday, May 7, state police say. William J. Lecher, 56, was headed north on Route 183 when he lost control near the Appalachian Trail, troopers said in a release. Authorities said his Chevrolet Silverado entered the southbound lane before crossing onto the shoulder, striking a sign, and coming to rest on a grassy embankment. A Colorado sex offender who lives in Lebanon and works in Berks County is missing, police announced on January 4. Santos Joel Rodriguez-Cruz, became a "non-complaint" registered sex offender when he "failed to verify his information between the required times," Lebanon City police and Pennsylvania State Police said in separate releases. A Berks County man died in a drowning accident, the Reading Eagle reports. Donald Klopp, 92, was reaching for a plank when he fell into a pond behind Airport Road home in Bethel Township around 12:30 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 28, the outlet says citing the Berks County Coroner's Office. A New York woman died after sustaining injuries in a crash in Berks County Tuesday afternoon, authorities said. Richard Swartz, 50, of Shippensburg, PA was parked on the shoulder of I-78 westbound in the area of mile marker 8.5 in Bethel Township around 4:50 p.m. when Alan Barton, 41, of Blue Point, NY, struck Swartz's car at an "unsafe speed," according to Pennsylvania State Police.
