It happened around 8 p.m. on Saturday, April 8, said New Hope police in a release. Officers arrived at the South Main Street theater to find "a group of people about to become involved in a physical confrontation," the department wrote.

An on-scene investigation led police to issue citations for harassment to two of the people involved — a 55-year-old man from New Cumberland and a 29-year-old resident of Colts Neck, New Jersey, according to the release.

The building that is today the Bucks County Playhouse was built in 1790, has operated as a theater since the 1930s, and has hosted celebrities including Dick Van Dyke, Liza Minnelli, and Robert Redford, according to its website.
