Police said they stopped Robert Rice's Nissan Maxima for "vehicle code violations" around 1 a.m. Saturday, May 11.
BPD said he was "observed concealing items in the center console" and struggled with officers after being asked to get out of his car. He was detained and a handgun was spotted on the rear passenger floorboard, according to authorities.
Police obtained a search warrant and recovered a Taurus .45 caliber semi-automatic along with some marijuana, the department said.
