The 35,000 square foot Warrington Township location opened its doors on August 5, aiming to offer a "new, low-priced grocery store in the community," according to a company statement.
"We’re excited to begin serving the Warrington community and to welcome customers into our doors today,” said Ron Marra, store manager.
“Customers shopping at the store will find low prices, a broad selection of high-quality food, and convenient, innovative shopping features. I’m also proud that this store has created hundreds of good jobs with benefits locally."
Amazon Fresh stores offer a modern touch to grocery shopping with technology like their smart shopping cart that aims to speed up customers' trips by allowing them to skip the checkout line, according to company officials.
The stores also include free same-day delivery and a separate area for shoppers to pick up and return Prime packages without a box, label, or tape, Amazon said.
"We’re also proud to support the community by creating hundreds of high-quality local jobs and by donating surplus food from the Amazon Fresh store to local food banks," Amazon officials said.
