Emergency dispatchers received at least 75 calls after the sound was heard around 10:30 p.m. on Saturday night, Sept. 16, said the District Attorney's Office.
A drone team was sent out to search for the source of the boom on Saturday night and Sunday morning, Sept. 17, they added.
"There is no reason for alarm or to panic," Northampton police have said.
