Fatal Fire Engulfs Home Along The Susquehanna River, Smoke Seen For Miles A raging fire consumed a home in the 5400 block of River Road in Hellam Township early Tuesday morning, March 4, leaving at least one person dead, emergency officials confirmed. Fire crews arrived just before 7 a.m. to find the house fully engulfed in flames. A thick column of smoke could be seen from miles away, according to dispatch reports. By 8 a.m., officials confirmed the York County Coroner had been called to the scene for at least one reported fatality. The fire has since been brought under control. HazMat Incident At York County Business (Developing) A HazMat crew has been called to a business on Tuesday, Oct. 15, according to the York County Department of Emergency Services.  The incident happened at Guardian CSC located at 6000 Susquehanna Plaza Drive in Hellam Township around 9:20 a.m.  There are no reports of anyone being taken to the hospital at this time.  This is a developing situation and we've reached out to officials for more details, so check back here for updates.

Vehicle Slams Into Fence On Rt 30 Ramp: PennDOT A vehicle crash into a fence at a Route 30 ramp is causing some delays on Monday, Aug. 5, according to PennDOT's 511PA.  The crash happened at the Route 30 Westbound on-ramp at Kreutz Creek Road in Hellam Township around 11:15 a.m., according to the York County Department of Emergency Services dispatch log.  The ramp was closed as emergency crews remained on the scene. Maryland Ironman Winner, Dallastown HS Teacher Killed In Bicycle Crash: Officials A former Ironman Maryland All-Around winner and popular Pennsylvania high school teacher was killed in a bicycle crash in York County, friends and officials announced on Monday, July 29.  Joseph "Joe" Klinedinst, 48 of York, died at the scene of a crash at the intersection of Mt Pisgah and Ducktown roads in Hellam Township at 11:55 a.m. on Saturday, July 27, according to the coroner's release and later identified by family friends and a county commissioner.  Our deepest condolences to the Klinedinst family as yesterday our community lost a great man.
