PA State Police Car Catches Fire On Route 80
A PSP vehicle caught fire on a Luzerne County highway late Monday, July 15, according to officials. The blaze happened on Route 80 near mile marker 272.1, said White Haven Fire Company. Troopers brought the flames under control by the time firefighters arrived, and a hose was used to soak down the engine compartment, authorities said. No one was injured, the fire company added. Daily Voice has reached out to PSP for details on what caused the fire.

Seven firefighters were injured when two tankers, from two different companies, collided on the way to a massive warehouse fire in South Central Pennsylvania on Friday night, according to separate releases issued the following morning, July 13. A potential acid leak has led to a shelter-in-place order at Letterkenny Army Depot on Thursday, county officials say. The call about the hazmat situation at the base came into Franklin County Emergency Management at 9:31 a.m. on July 11. The incident at the AFCO facility located in the 800 block of Development Avenue in Letterkenny Township. Exactly 28 minutes after a mobile home fire was reported, firefighters found an unconscious man and soon a call for a coroner was made on Thursday morning, according to York County Department of Emergency Services dispatchers and police. Directly across from a cemetery, someone was struck by a vehicle, Lititz police announced on Sunday, July 7. The crash happened at the intersection of South Broad Street/PA Route 501 and East Third Avenue around 2:16 p.m. on June 27, Lititz Borough of Police detailed in the release. A construction worker fell from the scaffolding on the exterior of the ninth floor of a building in Pittsburgh on Thursday, May 30, officials with the office of public safety announced later that morning.
