Fire Erupts at Liberty Road Compost Site, Upper Saucon Firefighters Respond A significant brush fire broke out at the Liberty Road Compost site, prompting a swift response from Upper Saucon police and firefighters on Friday, Nov. 8, 2024, at 1:27 p.m., according to officials. Arriving officers found the blaze spreading from the east side of the facility toward the adjacent wood line. Fire crews from Upper Saucon, Coopersburg, Lower Milford, Upper Milford, Vera Cruz, Eastern Salisbury, and Lower Saucon joined forces to bring the fire under control. Coroner Seeks Family Of Late Upper Saucon Man The Lehigh County Coroner's Office is asking for the public's help to locate a decedent's next of kin.  George T. Howard of Upper Saucon died of natural causes at St. Luke's University Hospital in Bethlehem on Monday, Feb. 26, officials said.
