Rookie Cop Awarded For Saving Berks Woman Attacked By Dog
Don't call it beginner's luck. Officer Justin Schlottman, the most recent hire at the Robeson Township Police Department in Berks County, was recognized by Reading Hospital after rendering vital first-aid to a dog bite victim, the department announced. According to his superiors, Officer Schlottman responded to a 911 call regarding a woman who was badly bleeding after being attacked by a dog. Pair Sought In Armed Robbery Of Mohnton Turkey Hill: Police
Two men are being sought in the armed robbery of a Turkey Hill store in Berks County, authorities said. The pair walked into the store on the 3200 block of Morgantown Road and robber a worker of cash and cigarettes at gunpoint around 10 p.m. Tuesday, May 31, Robeson Township police said. The suspects fled south on State Route 10 in a black Chrysler 300, police said. Officer Interrupts Berks County Burglary, Police Say
Two people were arrested after an officer interrupted a burglary in Berks County on Saturday, authorities said. While on night shift patrol, the officer spotted Nathan Conard and Jenna Belcher hiding behind the dumpsters at Kwik N Kleen car wash on Morview Boulevard in Morgantown, according to the Caernarvon Township Police Department. As he approached them, they fled on foot leading him on a short chase. DA: Reading Man Arrested For Heroin, Fentanyl Trafficking Sold Drugs To Fatal Overdose Victim
A Reading man arrested on suspected heroin and fentanyl trafficking was arrested on additional charges after learning he sold drugs to a routine customer who fatally overdosed in 2020, authorities said. In February 2020, the Berks County District Attorney’s Drug Task Force initiated a drug investigation into Ramon Belen, 59, and obtained search warrants for him and his two addresses in the 600 block of Bingaman Street, according to Berks County Detectives. A Robeson Township man who police say pointed a rifle at a man with his two young children at a family gathering surrendered to police Wednesday.
