Manheim Mennonite Dad Struck Dead Driving Amish Boys, Friends Say
A Mennonite dad was struck dead on Wednesday morning, Oct. 10, according to the Lancaster County Coroner's Office. Eldon Kreider, 43, of Manheim was driving a pickup truck when he was struck by a sedan at the intersection of Hossler and Breneman roads in Rapho Township at 8:42 a.m., the coroner said. The driver of the sedan "pulled out in front of him at the intersection," a family friend said. Kreider was driving two Amish boys, "that are fine," the friend noted. A public works building exploded on Wednesday morning, July 5 in Central Pennsylvania, authorities say. Six homes were evacuated when a propane leak caused an explosion at the public works storage building behind the township's office building on 971 North Colebrook Road in Rapho Township, according to Lancaster County Wide Communications Emergency Dispatch.
